2.Our Services
You will not receive advice or a recommendation from us. We will ask you necessary questions to provide you with a quotation. You need to make your owned informed decision as to whether the product suits your requirements. We only provide Pet Insurance cover from Accelerant Insurance Europe SA.
3. Conflicts of Interest
We will endeavor to avoid conflicts of interests in providing services to you. However, where an unavoidable conflict of interest arises we will advise you of this in writing before providing you with any service. A full copy of our Conflicts of Interest policy is available on request.
4. Default / Remedies
Under the Consumer Insurance Contracts Act 2019, you are under a duty to pay your premium within a reasonable time, or otherwise in accordance with the terms of the contract of insurance. Credit cannot be extended to clients in respect of premiums; initial, renewal or additional. Initial or first premiums must be paid at inception of cover and renewal premiums before the policy renewal date. Failure to pay your premium or part thereof or any breach of your policy conditions may lead to your policy being cancelled and claims not being paid.
5. Statement of Charges
We are paid a commission from the insurer which is a percentage of the total annual premium. The amount of commission that we receive is available on request.
6. Governing Law & Language
The laws of Ireland form the basis for establishing relations between you LRMS Europe Limited. All contracts, terms, conditions and communications relating to any policies or services you may enter into with the firm will be in English.
7. Complaints
We have a written procedure for the handling of complaints. If you wish to register a complaint please contact Ms Gillian Stafford, info@petbusinessinsurance.ie, Tel: +353 1 574 2899.
We will acknowledge your complaint in writing within 5 business days and we will fully investigate it. We shall investigate the complaint as quickly as possible, and the complainant will receive an update on the complaint at intervals of not greater than 20 business days starting from the date on which the complaint is made. On completion of our investigation, we will provide you with a written report of the outcome. This will be within 40 business days of receipt of the complaint. In the event that you are still dissatisfied with our handling of or response to your complaint, you are entitled to refer the matter to the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman (FSPO). 8. Investor Compensation Act 1998
Accelerant Insurance Europe SA is a member of the Investor Compensation Scheme, established under the 'Investor Compensation Act, 1998'. Under that Act, an 'eligible investor' may receive a maximum compensation of €20,000 or 90% of the loss, whichever is the lesser. Further information on this scheme is available from the Central Bank of Ireland.
9. Duty of Disclosure
It is your responsibility to provide complete and accurate information when you complete your insurance policy on line, throughout the life of your policy and when you renew your insurance.
When you purchase your policy via our website an account is created for you. If anything happens during the year that may affect your insurance please go to your account and log any changes.
It is important that all statements you make when purchasing your insurance on line, claim forms and any other documents are full and accurate. Please note that if you fail to provide complete and accurate information this could invalidate your insurance cover and could mean that all or part of a claim may not be paid.
10. Cooling off Period/ Right to Cancel
Under the Consumer Insurance Contracts Act 2019, if you have taken out a new policy with us or renewed an existing policy, you have the right to cancel the contract within 14 days if receipt of the documentation provided you have not claimed. The Insurer cannot impose any costs on you other than the cost of the premium for the period of cover. You may exercise your cancellation rights by writing to us at the address above.
11. Documentation
When you arrange your policy via the website you pay for the annual policy on line at the point of purchase. All documents relating to your insurance are generated and sent to you electronically.
You should read and retain all of the policy documentation and contact us immediately if you have any concerns with the cover you have chosen and received.
12. Data Protection
We are subject to the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018 and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018. We take great care with the information provided taking steps to keep it secure and to ensure it is only used for legitimate purposes. We collect your personal data for the purpose of arranging your insurance. Your information will be shared with the insurer and other companies solely for the purpose of arranging and administering your insurance and maybe disclosed to regulatory bodies for monitoring or enforcing insurance rules and regulations. Under GDPR you have the right to receive a readable copy of the personal data which we keep about you. You may challenge the data that we hold and where appropriate request to have the data amended or updated. 13. Claims
Details of how to tell us that you wish to make a claim are detailed on the website and in your policy documentation.
14. Effective Date
These Terms of Business come into effect immediately after you have purchased your pet business insurance policy online and remain in force until the policy expires. We reserve the right to amend these Terms at our discretion as a result of changes in legislation or regulation, and will give you notice in writing.
